Teaching Trust is proud to announce two additions to our internal leadership team: Alli Myatt, Chief Operating Officer, and Nancy Dennis, Chief Development and Outreach Officer. Dennis and Myatt, both experienced leaders in education improvement and innovation, will help to expand the organization’s positive impact on the region’s educational landscape, building on our founders’ vision for creating a community of school leaders driving toward sustainable academic gains for all children.
“As we work in partnership with others across the community, our network of educators is growing—as is our impact on students,” states Ellen Wood, Co-Founder and Director of Major Gifts. “We are so thrilled to have Alli and Nancy help lead the charge for carrying Teaching Trust’s vision forward. They are both exceptional leaders who are committed to improving outcomes for students.”
Dennis hopes to raise awareness and increase advocacy for the work that Teaching Trust is doing to build a school leadership pipeline across the greater Dallas area. She states, “I am motivated by the work that Teaching Trust has done to improve schools over the past five years. I look forward to building on that success to ensure we have the resources and capacity needed to provide high-quality educational experiences for all students across our region.”
Myatt shares Dennis’s excitement for the opportunity to leverage Teaching Trust’s strengths and increase our impact on student achievement. “I am continuously inspired by the work that Teaching Trust and others are doing to increase opportunities for our leaders to unlock the potential of all students,” Myatt states. “I am proud to join this organization that is so committed to investing in the professional growth of hundreds of transformational educators across our region.”
Teaching Trust invests in school leaders committed to providing a high-quality education for all students. Through our Aspiring Leaders, Teams, and Fellows programs, educators are equipped with the tools necessary to drive student achievement and improve their practice in service of kids. Both Dennis and Myatt bring invaluable experience working with educational leadership organizations through periods of rapid expansion, providing critical knowledge as Teaching Trust works towards our goal of cultivating a strong community of leaders across the region.
Myatt brings vital strategic and operational experience working for several nationally recognized educational leadership organizations. She most recently worked on Teach For America’s national team, where she led the organization’s National District & School Partnerships Regional Support and Development Work. Myatt brings experience in strategic development, school operations, and fundraising strategy as a result of her work with TNTP (formerly The New Teacher Project) and The Bridgespan Group.
Dennis comes to Teaching Trust with extensive experience in both the profit and nonprofit sectors. She most recently served on Teach For America - Dallas-Fort Worth’s leadership team, providing strategic, development, and financial leadership throughout the region’s expansion and local launch of the Summer Institute. Dennis seeks to further strengthen the connection of Teaching Trust to community leaders, the business and philanthropic community, and TFA and other educational organizations across Dallas and the broader DFW Metroplex.
Teaching Trust Chief Executive Officer Patrick Haugh sees significant opportunity with the expansion of Teaching Trust’s leadership team. “I am truly excited about the direction our organization is taking as we enter a new school year. The range of expertise and experience that both Alli and Nancy, plus recently named Chief Program Officer Stephanie Stewart, bring will position us to truly deepen and extend our impact. I look forward to the work that this leadership team will do to advance our vision of equipping every school with a strong leader committed to the success of kids.”
