Join the Teaching Trust Alumni Network on Monday, April 3rd, 2017 for a day of professional development as we visit one of the state's highest-performing schools: KIPP SHARP College Prep Lower School in Houston, TX.
KIPP SHARP Prep is a Title I school serving 889 students from Pre-K through 4th grade in southwest Houston. It consistently achieves STAAR passing rates of over 90% in reading and math, with recommended scores of 66.5% in reading and 68.3% in math in 2016.
Through focused classroom observations and collaborative action planning with your campus team and KIPP SHARP staff, you'll learn about (and observe first-hand) the campus':
- strong culture and data practices
- differentiated instruction for small groups
- guided reading and independent reading practices leading to results for students
Team Members to Bring
We highly encourage participants to engage in the school visit as part of a campus team of three members, including:
- School leader
- Assistant principal/dean
- Instructional coach or strong teacher
